Lord of the Rings Reading Group
Calling all Tolkien fans! Our Lord of the Rings Reading Group kicks off Tuesday, September 1st, led by William Barden and Sage Tanguay.
August is a great time to read The Hobbit to set the mood for a new fall program. The Tolkien Book Club will meet for orientation on Tuesday, September 1st at 6pm. This is an excellent opportunity for those who have never read the series, and those who would like to read again while going deeper into the text. Hosts William Barden and Sage Tanguay will lead monthly in-person discussions of the books over light refreshments. We’ll keep reading on track with a weekly email newsletter to review chapters and deepen our understanding of the text with optional readings from Tolkien’s greater Legendarium and associated works.
September 1st – Orientation
We’ll start by getting to know each other and discuss what participation in the book club will look like through the rest of the year. From 6:00 PM, we’ll review the story of the Hobbit, and discuss the ways in which it acts as a foundation for The Lord of The Rings…and the ways in which it doesn’t!
